The brief
A three-bedroom home with a study, designed around a dramatic curved internal ceiling with exposed rafters, rammed earth and natural timbers. The build called for careful execution of complex architectural details, with materials carried seamlessly from exterior to interior for a refined, remarkable finish.
The approach
Bringing the curved roof design to life required careful sequencing, with weather conditions and protection measures closely managed throughout construction. Designed by Design Unity, the architectural complexity demanded coordination and precision at every stage.
The outcome
A standout rural residence at home in its expansive Tuerong setting, defined by craftsmanship, natural materials and distinctive architectural detail. It went on to win the 2022 HIA Eastern Victoria Regional Housing Awards, Custom Built Home $1 million to $1.5 million.
